Home based internet marketing business not viable ?

In an article "Real Small Businesses, Real Big Ideas (This Time, It's Personal)" written by Jennifer Laycock - June 29, 2006, she said :

"Internet marketing industry has matured, it's become more and more difficult for small businesses to not only figure out how to compete, but to come up with the dollars so that they can afford to compete."

Does that mean that small home based internet marketing business is not viable any more ?

This is certainly not true as internet marketing provide an opportunity for small business (even 1 man show) to compete on a global market with very little investments. What is needed is proper information and know how to get started and doing the right thing for your internet marketing.
