Design a website that compels your visitors to buy.

If you want to design and build a website for your home based internet marketing business that will compel your visitors to subscribe, click and buy, you cannot afford to miss the step of planning.

The aim of planning is to develop a web site that is user-friendly and easily understood by your vistors. Your website have to look good but it is more important that they have to work! And therefore, planning your navigation and content is important.

One of the most common mistake that webmaster made is to jump right in and get distracted choosing nice colors and a fancy logo. What good is impressing people with the dazzle if they end up leaving without buying anything?

Before you even consider how your design will look, there are some basic design step you need to take.

You have to take note of a critical 10 seconds rule and ensure that the first fold of your web site (that's the first screen of your web site visible without scrolling) grab the attention of your visitors with a compelling benefit that persuades them to stay just a few minutes longer to find out what you have to offer.

So, don’t let unnecessary graphics, pointless Flash presentation, flashy banners, meaningless Mission Statements and unnecessary links get into the way.

50% of web sales are lost (according to market research from Gartner Group) because visitors cannot find what they are looking for and waiting too long for your site to load.,

Having said that, it is important to decide and plan what content and product images you will need to include. Make a list of all the content, products, and images you want to have on your site, as well as features like opt-in forms and search tools, and take an inventory.

In the next post, we will look at the necessary "Standard" pages that you need to include in your website.
